Parent and child working together at home

Our Services

At Ponte Vedra Behavioral Health, we provide individualized, evidence-based behavioral services designed to help individuals build meaningful skills, increase independence, support caregivers, and participate more fully in their homes, schools, and communities.

About Our Services

Everyday activities, social interactions, and community outings can present unique challenges for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related needs. Difficulties with transitions, elopement, self-injurious behavior, physical aggression, property destruction, PICA, profanity, verbal outbursts, or emotional regulation may affect participation in family routines, school activities, and community experiences. Developing meaningful peer relationships and navigating social situations may also require additional support.

At Ponte Vedra Behavioral Health, we believe that meaningful progress extends beyond the therapy setting. Our individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services focus on developing functional skills, promoting independence, strengthening communication, and supporting participation in everyday life. We work collaboratively with families and, when appropriate and authorized, other members of the individual’s care team to establish meaningful goals that reflect each person’s unique strengths, needs, and priorities.

  • At Home

We support the development of daily living skills, functional communication, smoother transitions, emotional regulation, and greater independence within familiar routines. Our approach also emphasizes positive family interactions and practical strategies that caregivers can use throughout the day.

  • At School

When services and collaboration are appropriate and authorized, we focus on skills that support classroom participation, following routines, communication, social interaction, and independence. We work with families and relevant educational team members, as permitted, to promote consistency, skill generalization, and meaningful skill development.

  • In the Community

We emphasize the development and generalization of functional skills in natural environments. Through individualized goals and appropriate support, individuals can practice participating in community activities, interacting with others, and developing greater independence during everyday outings. We accompany and support your child at church, the movie theater, grocery store, malls, parks, and other community environments. We focus heavily on functional independence, teaching individuals how to safely navigate roads, read and follow traffic signs, and master essential community safety rules.

Community-based skill development may include practicing safe walking, responding to stop instructions, recognizing and following traffic signals, remaining with a caregiver or designated adult, and navigating familiar public environments. Depending on individual medical needs, goals, and family priorities, opportunities may include grocery stores, parks, beaches, church, and other community settings.

Imagine a stress-free trip to the grocery store where your child actively participates, stays close by your side, and safely navigates the aisles with confidence. For many parents facing severe behavioral challenges, this feels like an unattainable dream.

If you are constantly on edge wondering if your child’s next outburst will involve elopement, aggression, property destruction, or verbal profanity, you are not alone. These barriers often make families isolate themselves from community life, skipping church services, movie nights, or trips to the local beach. Building Confidence, Connection, and Independence Imagine a grocery store visit where an individual participates in the shopping routine, communicates their needs, remains safely with their caregiver, accepting denial, accepting alternatives, and practices making independent choices. Consider the opportunities that may emerge when individuals develop the skills to participate more comfortably in family outings, recreational activities, and social experiences. These everyday moments can represent meaningful progress for individuals and their families. At Ponte Vedra Behavioral Health, our approach centers on each individual’s unique learning needs, abilities, and goals. We prioritize functional communication, social development, community safety, daily living skills, and greater independence while supporting meaningful participation in everyday life. Our commitment is to provide compassionate, individualized ABA services that help individuals build skills, strengthen relationships, and participate more independently in their homes, schools, and communities.

At Ponte Vedra Behavioral Health, we believe therapy should prepare individuals for the real world. Our highly individualized programs focus on teaching social skills to make meaningful connections with friends and family. Our services are centered around each individual’s unique strengths, needs, goals, and preferences. We partner closely with families and caregivers to promote skills that are practical, functional, and meaningful in everyday life.

Building Independence

We help individuals develop practical life skills that promote greater independence.

Caregiver Training & Support

Caregivers are an essential part of meaningful, lasting progress. We provide individualized caregiver training to help families understand behavioral principles, implement strategies consistently, promote skill development, and support generalization across everyday environments.

Social & Community Skills

We help individuals develop skills needed to navigate social situations and community environments with greater confidence and independence. Services may target communication, social interaction, appropriate responses to others, community safety, flexibility, and participation in meaningful activities.

Behavior Support

When challenging behaviors interfere with learning, safety, relationships, or daily life, we work to understand the factors contributing to those behaviors and develop individualized, evidence-based interventions that teach more effective and functional alternatives.

School Collaboration

Consultation and collaboration with schools to support consistency between home, clinic, and classroom. We work with teachers and staff to align goals, share strategies, and promote positive outcomes across settings.

Skill Development & Generalization

Our goal is not simply for an individual to demonstrate a skill during therapy. We work toward helping skills generalize across people, places, and situations so that meaningful progress can become part of everyday life.

Progress That Matters

We establish meaningful goals, monitor progress, and celebrate every single step forward. From a first successful communication attempt to greater independence in daily routines, every achievement matters.

We believe that progress is a journey—and every step has the potential to bring hopes and wishes into lasting change.
